Advicelet benefit: Beat your competitors (and colleagues) by seeing the information you need first.

At the start of the course, we introduced the concept of RSS as a business tool for getting ahead of your colleagues and competitors when it comes to managing knowledge. When used correctly, information pushed at you can be so much more powerful than going to look for it in the first place.

Today, we are going to look in more detail at Google Reader, the software we briefly introduced to read RSS feeds. It’s incredibly powerful and being updated all the time. So far we’ve looked at setting up feeds. Today we’re going for more of a Reader tour.

If you get into the habit of reading and organising your feeds, then over time you will build up a potentially huge database of knowledge, which is instantly searchable from wherever you are.

Knowledge is power – so let’s take a look at how to harness it.
